  The International English Language Testing System ( IELTS ) is a globally recognized exam with two main versions: General Training and Academic. Each serves specific purposes and targets different groups of test-takers. Understanding their differences can help you make an informed decision.   1.      Test Formats Both IELTS General and Academic include four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
