CELPIP Passing Score Requirement for 2024

The CELPIP (Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program) exam assesses a candidate's proficiency in English across four main modules: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Each module is scored separately, and there are specific passing scores set for each.

To successfully pass the CELPIP exam, candidates typically need to achieve a minimum score in each module as well as an overall passing score. The overall passing score for the CELPIP exam is typically 6 or 7, depending on the version of the test (CELPIP-General or CELPIP-General LS), which indicates a basic to proficient level of English proficiency.

For each module, the passing scores are as follows:

·         * Listening: The passing score for the Listening module of the CELPIP exam is usually around 6 or 7. This means that candidates need to demonstrate the ability to understand spoken English across a variety of contexts, including conversations, lectures, and workplace situations.

·         *Reading: In the Reading module, candidates are required to comprehend written English texts and answer questions based on the information presented. The passing score for the Reading module is typically around 6 or 7 as well.

·         Writing: The Writing module assesses candidates' ability to effectively communicate in written English, including tasks such as composing emails, responding to survey questions, and writing essays. The passing score for the Writing module is usually around 6 or 7.

·         Speaking: The Speaking module evaluates candidates' oral communication skills in English, including pronunciation, fluency, and coherence. The passing score for the Speaking module is also typically around 6 or 7.

It's important for candidates to be familiar with the specific requirements and scoring criteria for each module of the CELPIP exam to adequately prepare and achieve their desired scores. Additionally, candidates should verify the passing score requirements with the organization or institution for which they are taking the exam, as requirements may vary depending on the purpose of the test.

Test Format The CELPIP General consists of four modules: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking, with a total test duration of around 3 hours...
